30Stories: What is Your Highest High?

Today at 30 Stories in 30 Days, Kate Kimble of A Nerd and Her Words ask:

Q: What moment/s in your life have brought you to your Highest High? Picking one is probably an unfair expectation (especially since you have more than one child, and I imagine their births probably rank at the top). So feel free to do a few or group them into categories. I’ll leave that up to you. I just want to know about the happiest moments of your life.

I was on a vlogging roll, so I decided to answer Kate’s question as a video post. My answer harkens back to yesterday’s post about Making A Difference, which of course is connected to all kinds of kismet things that are happen amongst my coaching friends at the moment. I hope you enjoy the video. Thanks for watching!

What about You? What’s one of your highest highs? And what can you mine from it to help direct you to your next great moment?

Hi Rachelle! So I finally got a link working on my site. For some reason I couldn’t embed it, but the link is there and active. The video is fantastic and gives really inspiring insight, especially into parenthood… I’m filing that one away for later (don’t have kids yet but plan/hope to in the future). I feel like it’s so important to have the realistic views on parenting offered up in a “this is normal and okay, too!” way. Being a parent is something I’ve looked forward to since childhood, and I’m admittedly slightly concerned that these lifelong idyllic expectations may be setting me up for some shaky ground when things don’t go the way I plan. So thank you for sharing your highest high and that parenting insight!

Happy birthmonth :) Thanks again for sharing yourself with us!

I’m glad to hear you say parenting isn’t easy. Early childhood was NOT my forte. I love the preschool years so much more than I loved the baby stuff. And someone told me that parents who don’t exactly feel “solid” at parenting little kids are usually much better at the older years, which gave me a lot of comfort. And you’re right, it does feel a little strange not to automatically say “Gracie!” when people ask me what my biggest accomplishment in life was.
