30Stories: How to Build a Neighborhood

On Day Four of 30Stories 30Days, Jill Scripps of Fireflies Art asks:

Q: How do you participate in your local community? Not the big city nearby…but right where you live. I am trying to do more locally instead of heading to the nearest big city in order to feel connected.

Click here to o read my YBH (yes, but how) post on how to do such a thing (and a wonderful thing it is!)

To hear my slightly-dreamier and not quite as how-to version, listen below.

How We Built a Neighborhood

(Oh I do so hope you will do both!)

Much Warmth,
Rachelle

this is lovely! I don’t know my neighbours. I know one lady who lives diagonally across the street. We met her because of her breast feeding/home birthing bumper sticker, while Jade was pregnant with her second child.
I don’t even live a walkable distance to a mailbox, let alone shops or the library. I can certainly see how that would be fabulous, but even if I did, I couldn’t ever see me inviting the whole street over for anything!
