*8Things: This I know

This week’s list is a part of our series, Standing in Your Own Power…which is an extension of this *8Things . (It seems we have come full-circle.)
When it comes to finding your power, a handy repeat-as-often-as-necessary exercise is to write a lit of things you know to be true. (Even Oprah does it.) I find that this list slips around a bit for me. So I like to do it a couple times a year. Here is my current list of:
*8Things: This I Know
1. I can succeed, even with chronic pain, if I define success by my own internally-identified terms.
2. As a mom, I kinda rock.
3. “Truth, Beauty, Freedom, and above all things, Love.”
4. You can love with your whole heart, no questions asked. (Jen Lemen said it, and I believe it.)
5. My gremlins are not testaments to truth telling, and therefore as witnesses, they can be ignored.
6. Art is my new church.
7. My family creates community wherever we go.
8. I can be married and be a self-actualized, happy, passion-following woman at the same time.
What are the things you know, that you Know, that you KNOW? These are the boulders at the foundation you use to stand in your own power. List your *8Things: This I Know in the comments, or grab a button and play along. If you post on your list on your blog, please give us the permalink in the Mr. Linky below so we can come say hi! Thanks for being here.

hmmm… I don’t think I have 8…
This post and topic are *so*perfectly*timed* that it makes me laugh with joyful Knowing!
I’m all about 3rd chakra reclamation and power this week!!!
What a great way to start the day. I think I’m going to make this list and ongoing thing for myself – a way to get centered.
I love your new design!
This is a great one! I kinda started this as ‘The Book of Me’ as Havi Brooks calls it. So good to see it in writing & know that you know.
Thanks for the standing in your power series. Comes at the perfect time for me.

Exactly what I needed to do today, Magpie Girl! Thank you!

1. I am beautiful no matter what physical condition I’m in.
2. I am electric – I like to be fast, organized, and clear.
3. Everything happens for a reason (which I keep reminding myself constantly, “really Claire, all that money you’re spending on college is for a REASON!”)
4. I believe in energy realities.
5. Dreams are important.
6. Considering my hippie-untraditional schooling background, I am an exceptional student, and a great writer.
7. Laughter can cure almost anything.
8. Humans are just awkward.
Claire,
I love your list so much. And I never knew that about you — number 2. But now that I think about it a bit I can totally see that.
I need your help absorbing number 1 into my own life. Got any tips? mantras? habits?
I’m glad you are here!

This is truly a week of feeling powerful!
I have just come across your blog and it was just perfect timing to write. I have posted it on my blog
http://tamarastitterings.blogspot.com/2010/04/this-i-know.html
I even scrapbooked it.
and above all else – love… from Moulin Rouge.
I love your website. How can I subscribe to receive updates of new posts?
Jen,
Amen sister! That’s my creed. :-)
I don’t have any thing set up to receive email notices of new updates. But you can follow me at Twitter, where I announce new posts, or add me to your RSS feed. Both links are in the top left corner of my site.
Thank you!
1. Money is the *only* thing keeping me from exploring the world. I can go anywhere if I just save (and I do-Nepal 2014 or bust!).
2. We all have the capacity to make positive or negative contributions to the world, regardless of our faith/non-faith.
3. I am capable of doing amazing things, but that doesn’t mean I have to do them all today (nor should I feel guilty about taking my time).
4. We are not above nature.
5. I have a grain of hope living in me that nothing can kill. Sometimes I find myself resenting it because it can result in serious disappointment, but I realize such unfailing hope is an incredible grace and I’m glad it’s there.
6. The answer is, in fact, blowing in the wind. Remember the scene in Phenomenon when John Travolta watched the trees and just *knew*? I feel that (…without the rest of the movie storyline).
7. Love is the most powerful force in the universe.
8. I don’t have to settle. I’m worth my dreams.

Thanks, perfect timing as always :)!
Thanks everyone for playing! I’m traveling right now but will pop over to each of your sites and say hello when I get back. Look at our Giant Pool of Wisdom grow!
Love the new site. Playing… but feeling a bit self conscious….
What a fabulous idea. Thanks. Did it on my own blog and hope to spread the encouragement to others..
Welcome Renae, we are glad you’re here!
