Please Help My New Book get Kickstarted

Update: Thanks to everyone who supported my Kickstarter project. We got approved! (Apparently we flooded their inbox a bit. (Erm….Sorry Kickstarter! I had no idea there would be such a big response!)

Now is the time where I crunch the numbers and create a plan. Watch for the Art Lessons project to get launched for fundraising in 3-4 weeks.

I really appreacite your support and ecouragement. It made my week!

Hi, my name is Rachelle Mee-Chapman. I’m known online as Magpie Girl.

I’m a writer. I’m also a spiritual director. I’ve been providing “care for creative souls” since the turn of the century. I love artists and do all I can to help them thrive during the up’s and down’s of the creative process. I’m very good at helping creative types “manage the crazy.”

I’m dreaming of a project with the working title of “Art Lessons.” In my mind’s eye, this would be a small square book you could hold in your hand or tuck in your coat pocket or messenger bag. Inside would be a collection of essays based on the life of famous artists and performers. These would be in a dreamy reflective “voice” and would be created to inspire artists thru stuck points and doubts, based on the stories of other creators who have overcome great boundaries. (For example, how Monet’s late-in-life blindness led to the creation of the first Abstractionist works.)

Following the essay would be a blessing written by myself, and related to the “lesson” at hand. In addition, I would record the blessings and they would accompany the book as a CD and/or a set of downloadable MP3s. (my “green” preference.)

I hope you will consider my projects, as I truly believe I have an on-line and local community that would bring it into fruition.
