Fear -- How to Break Up with the Bastard

pennydearfearfuckoff
Pen’s photo of her Dear John letter — a long overdue break up with fear.

Have you read Pen’s break up letter over at The Penny Has Dropped? Seriously. It’s the best post I’ve read all year.

Like many of you I’ve been kind of blah about reflecting on 2009. And I’m even less organized in my thoughts about what I want to project into 2010. But telling fear to fuck off?  That I’m in to.

So here’s what I’m thinking, tonight, on New Year’s Eve, I’m going to write a break up letter to fear. Not only is it New Year’s Eve, but it’s also a Full Moon, and a Blue Moon to boot. If that’s not serious mojo, I don’t know what is. So what do you say? Wanna join me?

What parting words do you have to say to Fear? Jot them down on a note card. Then take a photo and add it to our Flickr pool to encourage others to dump the bum. Say “I’m in!” in the comments below to help us all along.  “Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid.”

And me… there’s been too much flirting with fear in 2009. He can go to hell.

Love from me and S for 2010.

LOVE the idea of breaking up with fear….as long as we can still be friends. In the past fear has alerted me to some important things I woulndt have paid attention to otherwise. I’m not sure I’m up for muting such a powerful emotion totally – but I love the idea of not letting him be my main boyfriend :-)

I have a ripped,torn,re-taped,pink 3×5 card in my wallet. Given to me by a friend over 2 years ago. This is what she wrote on it: For I, the Lord thy God shall hold thy right hand saying unto thee,Fear not;I will help thee. Isaiah 41:13 (KJV)
I have held it,read it,used it,cried with it! It never leaves my wallet.
If you like this better, here it is in the NIV: For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
Love this, want to live it everyday~ I’m In!

Love it! I’m in too. And I’m adding a copy of that letter to my Goddess workbook .It was an abusive relationship with fear and I’m done! Don’t let the door hit you in the ass you creep.
