Barack the Vote
Dear World,
We are sorry for the last eight years.
We are working very hard to fix things today.
Wish us luck.

Go Obama Go!
Just got home from Barack-ing the vote! I feel so giddy :)
Rachelle,
With much love and respect, the world knows that the last 8 years were just part of a history of attrocities committed by the USA plutocracy drunk with corporate-capitalist power. To change administrators (even if he is a good hearted administrator) while not challenging the higher structures of the corporate-political matrix of domination, is not enough.
Paz,

Eliacin,
Lord knows it’s not enough! As an expat raising third-culture kids with three different citizenships, I know that _one_ shift-change from _one_ nation is not enough to fix everything.
Still…
I believe that change can be better than the status quo.
I believe that this many people finally getting involved in the political process, finally thinking about the issues, finally VOTING is good for our nation.
I believe that when a person who has experienced being in a minority culture, enters power in the dominate culture, this brings new blood, new perspective, and new solutions into an otherwise stagnant mix.
I believe that an African-American man in the highest office in the land will effect change and inspire a generation.
I believe we have a long way to go.
I believe we have some small reason to hope.
Because the US has such a huge influence on the rest of the world .. I sometimes wish us non – Americans could vote for your next president too. B/c he/she not only determines the fate of the US, but also the fate of many other (less powerful) nations.
Go Obama. I’m ready for a new direction.
I’m with Monica.
Also, the world didn’t get to what it is today, overnight.
Not the bad parts, not the good parts.
If we want change, we can have it.
But, babysteps.
I say it’s better to take one small step at a time than to not walk at all.
Celebrating with you!
Dear Rachelle,
thank you for fixing it so beautifully!
The World
First step- reunite with our own. Take the signs off the lawn. Pull off the bumper stickers that outline “them” and “us”. We gotta get back to “we”
