It’s hard to write. So many people just want happy stories. I can be one of them. But part of a story is conflict. In fiction and our real lives, we grow as a result of our challenges. I’ve often been tempted to not share my emotional and physical pain but I can’t write lies. If I’m in a dark space, I must acknowledge it, even if it means frightening people away. There is real power in truth. Even though we may scare others, we drawn those who are also lost to us. It is my hope that we help find our way out of the dark together.
