*8 Things to Love About Housemates
1. The adults out number the children.
2. Hearing the night owl’s desk chair squeak in the room next to you when you’re up with insomnia.
3. There’s someone to water the flowers/feed the cat/walk the dog while you are gone.
4. If you hear a bump in the night, it can be your housemate and not anything scary.
5. When you need to be zipped up, someone’s around.
6. Extra kitchen wisdom from someone who’s lived ahead of you.
7. There’s always a reason for beer on the porch swing.
8. Getting to live with the family you’ve adopted by affection.

I love this list. As I was reading it, I kept thinking – yes, that feels like family. And there that was in #8!
Living alone… 8 things to love:
1… Warm nights, no need to look for a bathrobe when going to the loo
2… Staying up late, I can even listen to African music if I want
3… Last piece of bread… it’s mine!
4… Spare rooms to use for leisurely packing
5… When there’s a visitor, it’s such FUN! Such a novelty!
6… Any time can be nap-time, with nobody coming along to say “You going to sleep?”
7… Never, ever having to watch sports on TV
8… Dinner can be 5pm, or 6pm, or 7pm… or 10pm….
Hmm…I need to do 8 things. Housemates seems like a good one!
