Hi Rachelle, You write beautifully and to the heart. And have hope there are those people, including myself, who can assist in healing chronic back pain. From my perspective back pain is very real and is a mind/body/spiritual issue. Connect the mind and body and very often the pain remits for a time. Find someone who can send the healing vibrations and heat from the Lord and my may find relief forever. warm regards, Ira

Rachelle, your stories are sparkly things to me. They distract me (in a good way) so that I find it nearly impossible to not read them before the end of the workday.

Such a beautiful, moving poem. But also sad because pain produced it. Is it really necessary to suffer for one’s art?

I wish I could teleport you (or whatever the Star-Treky term is) to where I work so you could see my favourite neurologist who specializes in migraines.

Even if it doesn’t get worse, perhaps it’s worth the money to help make it better? To have more than two good weeks each month? You know what you need and what you want. Don’t be afraid to ask for it and more. A way will appear.

Oh how this post tugged at my spirit and whispered, you can make something beautiful out of your pain too Suzie. Wisdom! I do try to do this but pain is such a difficult friend to wrestle. Sometimes you get punched in the nose really hard by accident and sometimes the pain keeps you out of areas that could be lethal.

Ah Ha! When I read on the website I was looking at that this was Van Gogh, I thought “Hmmm, really…?” I thought it was Picasso as well….

Now with your comment I’ve dug through my postcards and it is indeed Picasson, 1903, “The Old Guitarist” I stand, happily, corrected.

The Old Guitar Player is by Picasso. It was from his early Blue Period, so not his more recognizable Cubist style, which came much later. : )
