I love that Hothouse Flowers song!
It’s gotten me through many crises.
Believe it or not, I have it on cassette tape – made in 1990 during a tumultuous and short-lived relationship with a guy from Ireland :-0
That song rocks!

When all else fails around here….and to blow the stink off…we put on Earth, Wind & Fire’s Greatest Hits. It’s *impossible* not to get your groove goin’ with them backing you up :-)

I love your choice; I’m listening to it now, and it’s making a lonely latenight a lot more colorful. I’d suggest “To Be Surprised” by Sondre Lerche too!
I also wanted to let you know how amazingly empathetic this post seemed to me. The insomnia, the homesickness, the sick-sickness, the creative standstill, it’s been my life lately. I’ve been one of those moms I always pitied, hiding indoors in boxer shorts and yesterday’s makeup to avoid a world I don’t feel like facing. I just wanted to thank you for being honest and helping at least one of us out here feel less alone.
(And p.s. – I linked to your “offensive rat” post from my blog; I think the world would be a significantly better place if people took to heart what you wrote in it.)
