It’s official, every single thing in our pre-furnished temporary digs was purchased at IKEA. Some of the mugs even have stickers on them still. I feel like we are living in one of the show rooms!

Fits perfectly with my image of Scandinavian living!
Tee Hee Hee…that just seems almost too stereotypical for me to believe. At least you got one of the better show rooms. Some of them look awfully uncomfortable at the stores.
I love how scandesign often mixes danish moderinsm with vintage roccoco. When we came out for Paul’s interview back in October, the bistro in our hotel had modern tables and chairs mixed with very ornate and flashy multi colored chandeliers. You see that combination a lot.
We are going to try for that look when we get our permanent flat. We brough my grandmother’s vintage slipper chair with the heart-shaped back, and the second hand chaise from my studio (now half way re-apohlstered). We’ll couple those up with a non-nonesense sofa from IKEA and a Austin-Powers style coffee table. Can a non-native pull it off? We shall see….:-)
How mod! Lindell would love it. Your apartment looks great. I was just missing you yesterday. Still miss you today. Tell all the family I said hi.
Haha… That’s exactly what we did when we moved to Seattle. We had to steel ourselves for the eye rolls from Seattle-ites, but hey, when you have to furnish an entire house, the price and convenience just can’t be beat! :)
