oooo I Love these kinds of posts, this is how I find yummy yummy new music and books.

Already huge fan of Iron and Wine from Garden State Soundtrack….

I just discovered Girlyman and am loving the soundtrack to Across The Universe b/c I am a HUGE Beatles fan from way back and these are really well done by adorable new actors with pure gorgeous voices. Loved the movie too , bytheway…..

Also love Amy STeinbert and Ember Swift, groovy folksy chicks with guitars….

Try Dale Nikkel (love Silver and Gold, These are the Glory Days, This New Leaf ….dangit, they’re all good), the Wailin’ Jennys (Heaven When We’re Home, One Voice, also lots and lots of good songs here), or the Weakerthans (alternative/rock – they’re been getting a ton of press on public radio in Canada, especially with the ‘younger’ crowd).

I’m also a fan of Iron and Wine and Ingrid Michaelson. The thing is my dh and I have different tastes in music, so the trick is to find something we both love. The artists I mentioned are favorites of both of ours.

Oh … and one song our whole family cranks up in the van (yikes I sound old) is Michael Buble’s Everything. We love that song.

I’m a recent Feist fan myself, and have started to dig Iron and Wine’s moody sound. If you like music from Grey’s Anatomy, try Jem and her album “Finally Woken.” And not to be confused with Jem, I love Hem for relaxing music with sometimes soaring, sometimes intimate vocals. Oh, and the little-known, much-loved Over the Rhine always tops my list of music to listen to and share with others.
